Getting Smaller

Our computer is down so I am using the one at the doctor's office while I wait for an rx.  Wayne's tumors have all reduced 50% in mass.  This is the best Christmas present I could ever have asked for!

He has been in the hospital but is going home today, and we have free home care servicess doing PT, OT, social work and skilled nursing, just to be sure we have everything straight.

We have moved into our apartment.  Thanks go our to Bob and Fern, who packed us up and moved us and Glenda who is also moving things in for us.  It's great to have our own space, but we sure appreciated living with Fern and Bob for all that time.

Well, I hope they are about done.  This is my happiest update yet!

  1. Finally my computer is working again. So happy to hear that the tumors are shrinking, also that you now have your own apartment. It must be nice to be closer to the doctor so you don't have to drive so far each time.
Wayne I am glad you are out of the hospital so you can now get some real rest in your own bed. Thinking of you always. Love you lots.

  2. Good morning. Winter has arrived although with as cold as it has been it sure seems like it's been here for quite some time. We had a big wind storm last Friday. Tree limbs down everywhere. I saw on the news that it was 10 degrees in Missoula. Way beyond BRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I have winter break now and am looking towards having some down time. Things have been a bit hetic around here. Nothing like what you're going through of course, so know that I think of you daily and you are always in my prayers. Love you!! Happy Winter.

  3. Now that my computer is once again working I've had the opportunity to read all the blogs through Nov and Dec. I'm so sorry that I was not available to offer more support, but I know that you know that in the deepest part of my heart and soul I love you very much. You are the kindest and most compassionate brother a person could ask for. I understand depression and feeling like not talking to people, but keeping communication open is really important. Please be sure to go to support groups. And always always keep listening to music. MUSIC SOOTHES THE SOUL. I know this is an old saying but one I believe to be true. If you have not started using pot do so. I know it will help you feel better. Keep the faith. I think of you everyday all day long no matter what I am doing. Love you lots.

  4. Wayne- Christmas 2010 is here! It is sleeting and snowing outside, just like it is supposed to!! I hope you are feeling well, and that Barbara has found some goodies that you will eat.
We are having my kids and grand kids and some friends over tomorrow. It is really great to be around family for the holidays, isn't it.
We are planning a New Years Eve party, too. We built a new deck that enlarged our porch to party size!!
Here's hoping you two have a Merry Christmas!!
We will be thinking of you, all weekend.
    We love you both.

  5. Don't worry Donna, he's never without his music for long, He lost his Mp3 player in his coat for over a week and so I bought him a new one. Now he is never without at least one of them! And we just got cable and we have Sirius radio through them! Woo Who! Too bad I don't know how to get the music from the radio on TV onto his Mp3. I do believe it can be done. I just don;t know how! Right now we have to keep the faith a little more than usual. Wayne's Washington medicaid ran out in December 1 so they are not going to be treating him with the avastin, the med most likely to be causing these great results. It is a harsh one and a few weeks off with probably do him good. However, much beyond that and there may be problems. It's really expensive so without medicaid they can't do it even if it is justifying itself. I am working hard on getting a legal separation from Wayne because that is what it is going to take to get his SS1 and I am getting it for him ASAP. I will file before the end of the month so they will have to go back to December when they do the paperwork with the medicaid that comes with it. Likely there will be a new post on that subject very soon!

We are definately with you in spirit. We spent Christmas Eve in Port Ochard with all the kids, went to church to watch Clarissa sing in the choir, and then came home this morning. We are just hanging out enjoying the day. Arlen has to go back to work tomorrow. I have until Jan.3rd off which is nice. Clarissa will be coming down to spend a night or two during the week. She is such a great grandaughter.
Give our love to all and enjoy the holidays with many wishes for a brighter year. Love to all.

  7. Chayne and I went to Missoula today had a great visit with everyone. Wayne with wheels can walk faster than I. Next month's challenge for him is to beat me from Alisa to his home without the walker. Love you bro.

  8. Wayne,Keep on training so you'll be able to beat Carol. Challenges are always a good motivator. Hope you are able to get out and about often. Exercise is a great thing.I am lazy though and don't exercise as much as I should. I'll have to work on that. Wish I could be there to visit but I am always with you in spirit. Lots of love.

  9. Happy New Year. May the new year bring us good things, much happiness, and a miracle for Wayne's health. We had Clarissa at our house for a couple of days and we actually made it till midnight; but after the fireworks, we turned out the lights and went to bed. I took her home today and am now just watching football. Go Wisconsin.
Wayne and Barb, you both are in our prayers and although you both are going through a very difficult time in your life we are here to support you. God Bless. Love you.
